Dariush started painting when he was 13 years old. After graduation in Petrochemical Engineering in
1985, he joined ministry of oil. In 1994 he resigned from his job as an engineer to work full time on
painting. In the same year he established Kamalolmolk Art Gallery in Tehran. Despite Kamalolmolk was a
successful gallery, it didn’t satisfy artistic nature of Dariush. He preferred to leave his gallery in 2001 and
devote all his time in painting.
Dariush has attended in many painting exhibitions both inside and outside his country. In 2005 he was
selected as the best painter in real and hyper-real style in Niavaran art exhibition in Tehran. In 2007, he
was selected to attend in 7th biannual exhibition of best contemporary painters of Iran, which was held in
Saba Institute of Art and Culture, Tehran.
Nowadays, Dariush also is taking his postgraduate in painting course from Ministry of Art & Culture, Iran.
Dariush Zahedi's paintings with the confluence of nature and indigenous and historical monuments,
originality of classical Iranian poetry, through light, color, and special textures of mud straw walls and
monuments, have been imprinted on the canvas.
In his painting, Dariush zahedi depicts his deep fondness for the original native textures of village and the
rural ways of simple modest life.
The delicate folds of the pen in detail and the rotation of color in general, engage the mind in the
mysterious world of impressionism.
Dariush Zahedi's paintings illustrate a part of life that reflects the culture and civilization of the society he
belongs there.
